This method of exercise, created by Joseph Pilates, is designed to stretch, strengthen, and improve posture and balance in the body. Done on a mat or specialized equipment, systematic breathing patterns coupled with specific exercises heartily increase abdomen and back strength, flexibility and length within muscles, bone and joint health, and positive body awareness.  A toned and stronger core is the result when Pilates is done on a consistent basis.  Pilates is great for anyone looking to add stability, flexibility, and core strengthening to their current routine.
